What if you stopped trying to hold it all together and started actually living?
Meet Dr. Addie Smith, psychologist for women in Wayne, PA. Specializing in anxiety, perimenopause and menopause support & neurofeedback.
Many of the women I support have spent their whole lives managing everyone else’s needs—partners, parents, and kids.
These women are the emotionally mature members in emotionally immature families. They feel the most because they’re aware of the most. Many have been told they’re “too sensitive” or that they “overreact.” In reality, they’ve just never had the kind of support their nervous systems needed—and deserved.
Being told you’re “too much” is often just a way to silence someone who sees the truth. In my work, we make space for that truth, and for the real you to finally come through.
Maybe you’re here because you’re…
Tired of feeling like you’re the problem in your difficult relationships.
Constantly second-guessing yourself, apologizing, or managing everyone else’s emotions.
Successful on paper, but secretly feel like you’re barely holding it together.
Walking on eggshells in a relationship where you feel invisible or dismissed.
Completely unraveling—and you’re not sure if it’s hormones, your past, or just…everything.
In desperate need of boundaries, but setting them makes you feel guilty, selfish, or afraid.
GET TO KNOW ME
WE’RE IN THIS together.
I believe therapy should feel like a deep exhale—a space where you get to say the things you’ve never said out loud and start seeing yourself more clearly. Not as someone who needs fixing, but someone who’s been holding way too much, for way too long. Because you’re not crazy, your situation is.
I bring a mix of insight, humor, directness, and heart into our sessions. For years, I worked extensively with children and teens, helping them navigate big emotions, relationship dynamics, and formative experiences. That work continues to shape how I support women today—because so much of what we carry began long before adulthood.
Together, we'll look at the patterns, family dynamics, things you’ve blamed yourself for—and start sorting what’s actually yours from what never should’ve been. It’s to help you build the skills and self-compassion to create a life you actually want to live.
Therapy with me is real. It’s relational. And it’s designed to help you feel more like you. Not the over-functioning, over-apologizing, always second-guessing version of yourself—the one who knows her worth and protects her peace.
